SANDAKAN: A 66-year-old taxi driver was nearly killed by his own passenger at Batu 5, Jalan Sibuga, here, Friday.
District police chief, ACP Mohd Azhar Hamin said, prior to the incident, a 38-year-old male was in the victim’s taxi from downtown to Sibuga.

Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect grabbed the victim’s sling bag, but failed. This forced the victim to stop his taxi in the middle of the road and a struggle ensued between the victim and the suspect.
