Public invited to take part in Tuaran Cop Run 2020

Tuaran: The public are invited to participate in the Tuaran Cop Run 2020 event to be held on March 28. Tuaran District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Mohd Hamizi Halim (pic) said the event would be held in conjunction with the 213th Police Day located in the district field, here, beginning as early as 5am.

He said the event was organised for the first time, with more than 1,000 participants from Tuaran district, Kota Kinabalu city and the surrounding areas.

“We welcome the public to join this run as part of the district-level Police Day celebration.”

“At the same time, the event also aims to foster closer ties between the police and the public to facilitate cooperation in providing information on crime,” he said.

According to him, the competition is divided into two categories for men and women, namely the 13.7-kilometre run and the 5.5-kilometre run (Fun Run).

“By the registration deadline, the entry fee will be from RM50 to RM70 for the Fun Run category and for the competition category, the fee will be from RM70 to RM90.”

“Registered participants will receive T-shirts, finish medals, running bibs, participation certificates, drinks and lucky draw tickets.”

“Registration is open until March 2, 2020 and participants who register early can register through the “Jom Run” application for promotional prices,” he said.

It is understood that a lucky ticket draw will give out prizes such as a motorcycle, electrical goods, bicycles, hampers as well as a free hotel stay at Shangri-La’s Rasa Ria Resort, here.
