PAPAR: A total of 13 lion and dragon dance troupes received 20 lion heads from a generous reputable developer of Benoni Commercial Centre (BCC) and Benoni Gardens here, WSG Group in conjunction with its official launching of Benoni Gardens Tower B, a new 13-storey apartment project.

Its Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen said the company held an eye-dotting ceremony for 20 lion heads that has been a tradition of the company to sponsor lion heads for deserving troupes during the Chinese New Year celebration.

She said they are presenting the lion heads to the 13 troupes as a way of motivating the younger generation to preserve the Chinese culture.

“We hope to spread the Chinese New Year festive atmosphere and joy by giving away the lion heads.

“For the launching of Tower B of Benoni Gardens which is situated next to the BCC here, my dearest mother Datin Seri Chen Si Mui who was born and raised in Papar would be officiating the second Tower of Benoni Gardens and, thus, her presence is indeed meaningful and significant.

“Tower B is a 13-storey building with 115 units which are available in three sizes between 560sq ft and 1,000sq ft that will be completed for 12 months by Dec 2020. “Due to this auspicious occasion, we are giving 10 per cent discount for those interested to purchase of the units today (Sunday). So don’t miss the golden opportunity,” she said, adding that 48 of the 115 units or 40 per cent have been booked.

Wong said this in her speech at the official launching of Benoni Gardens Tower B cum the eye-dotting ceremony of 20 lion heads at BCC here on Dec 29.

She said they are also honoured to have the presence of Papar MP Ahmad Hassan to grace the event as he is also originally from Benoni.

According to her, Benoni Gardens Tower A, which is also a 13-storey building consisting 115 units of apartment, have been completed and occupied. In fact, she said Tower A has become a hot spot the rental has been encouraging particularly with the upcoming Kimanis parliamentary by-election.

“BCC and Benoni Garden are strategically located along the Pan Borneo Highway and links many towns and townships as well as the connection extending to Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam.

“Many entrepreneurs have chosen BCC to be their business premises due to its potential to be a prosperous new township,” Wong said.

According to the State government’s strategic development blueprint, she said Papar will be home to several major government developments including a proposed new Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA).

Wong said the State government is also planning to make Papar as an education hub, industry and healthcare centres within five years.

With these large-scale developments in the pipeline, she said Papar is having great potential economic growth in the near future.

On a final note, she said Benoni Garden is ideal for investment for house ownership.

Meanwhile, Ahmad said he is grateful that Wong brought BCC and Benoni Gardens to the district here as these developments are catalysts that will further stimulate Papar’s development growth.

“We should be grateful and thankful to Datuk Susan Wong as her two development projects, especially BCC, has lowered unemployment rate in the district as the ample businesses area providing ample job opportunities to the local communities here and indirectly reducing the government’s burden in addressing the social issue.

“In fact, the Tower A of Benoni Gardens is the first high-rise building in Papar that has caught attention of many people.

“I see that many villagers from Benoni are working at various shops in BCC as there are many small and medium-sized businesses have taken up the shoplots and premises which shows a positive trend on growing local businesses here,” he said.

Ahmad commended Wong for courageously identify potential and business opportunities in Benoni area which proven to be viable and lucrative as well as stimulate the socio-economic of the people here.
