LAHAD DATU: Three people, including a woman, were detained for stealing RM5,000 cash from a house in Kampung Tanjung Labian, Thursday.District Police Chief, ACP Nasri Mansor said the three suspects, including a couple, were arrested following a report lodge by a 43-year-old woman.

Nasri said the victim lodge a report after her 10-year-old daughter told her that a woman came to their house and asked her to buy a mobile phone reload card at the nearest shop. However, when she returned, the woman had already left the house.
He said the victim later entered her bedroom and found that the drawer of their closet was opened and some RM5,000 cash and identification documents belonging to her family members were missing.
“The victim’s daughter identified the woman based on her picture at the Desa Kencana Police Station.
“A team of police later went to her house at Sahabat 3, Desa Kencana and detained two men inside a Perodua Viva in front of the house,” he said.

The woman who was hiding inside a pile of cloths was also arrested.
The 34-year-old suspect led police to recover the stolen items which were placed inside a plastic bag at the side of the door.

Nasri said the trio aged between 22 and 49 were taken to the police station for further action.
He said inspection on the plastic later found a sling bag, cash worth RM4,043, two mobile phones, small bag, five MyKads, a MyKid, K-Link card, a wallet and a watch.

“Further inspection found that the woman have six previous records, including five drug cases. Urine tests conducted found all three positive for taking drugs.
“Further investigation is still ongoing under Section 380 of the Penal Code,” he added.
