LAHAD DATU: Three people, including a woman, were detained for stealing RM5,000 cash from a house in Kampung Tanjung Labian, Thursday.

District Police Chief, ACP Nasri Mansor said the three suspects, including a couple, were arrested following a report lodge by a 43-year-old woman.

Nasri said the victim lodge a report after her 10-year-old daughter told her that a woman came to their house and asked her to buy a mobile phone reload card at the nearest shop. However, when she returned, the woman had already left the house.

He said the victim later entered her bedroom and found that the drawer of their closet was opened and some RM5,000 cash and  identification documents belonging to her family members were missing.

The 34-year-old suspect led police to recover the stolen items which were placed inside a plastic bag at the side of the door.
