LABUAN: The Labuan Port Authority is ready and open to assist any investigations against the Authority by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over conspiracy allegations on the tender process and decision of the Labuan Liberty Wharf.

Its Chairman Chan Foong Hin, said the port authority had yet been approached by the MACC following a report lodged on Dec 17 by current operator Labuan Liberty Port Management Sdn Bhd (LLPM).

“We are open to any investigation by any parties and are ready to cooperate with the MACC.

“We have all the records of our board meetings which are not only minuted by also tape recorded.... we will leave it to the authorities to do their job,” he told reporters after the DAP Lion Dance Friendly Performance ceremony at the Labuan Multipurpose Hall on Sunday.

LLPM General Manager Abdul Ghani Paijan on Dec 17 lodged a report to MACC on suspicion of a possible conspiracy in the offer and appointment of a new operator for the Labuan Liberty Wharf.

They also lodged a report on ‘leaked’ port tender result which had not been officially announced by the LPA and the reports were to seek for a thorough investigation by the MACC.

Ghani said they are not pointing fingers at any parties but just want a fair investigation by the MACC.
