Illegally parked vehicles woe at Tg Aru u-turn
CITY Hall is urged to keep a close eye on illegally parked cars along Lorong Sireh in Tanjung Aru town, as the vehicles are obstructing motorists from making a turnaround at a road junction.

“They shouldn’t leave their car at the roadside where the U-turn junction is located, even for a short while because their car is blocking those making a turnaround,” stressed HENRY, who have been noticing the problem for more than a year.

He said the situation gets worse for those driving a four-wheel-drive as it is almost impossible to manoeuvres through the tight space.

“There were times where the driver (who parked illegally) would rush to leave the spot when someone honked, but most of the times nobody came.

“This leaves the driver struggling to get through the tight space,” he added.

A City Hall spokeswoman, when contacted, said its staff at the Enforcement Division would be asked to keep an eye on the situation there from time to time.

“They won’t be able to monitor that area all the time but they will try to be there during the peak hours,” she added.

She hoped this publication would serve as last warning to motorists to leave the spot concerned vacant.

“Our personnel will also keeping an eye on other parking offences in that town, such as double parking and parking at non-designated areas like pavement and road reserve,” she added. (OV)
