Toddler escapes injury in Ranau mishap
RANAU: A family of three including a year-old toddler escaped with light injuries after the car they were in went out of control and rammed into a  tree Tuesday morning. 

In the incident which happened at about 7.15am along Jalan Ranau-Tamparuli near Kg Tamis Jaya, Rikah Saili 29, was driving a Proton Wira with her father, Saili Gudin 58 and a one year old toddler as passengers.

Ranau Fire and Rescue Chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib confirmed the incident to the media said the department was informed about the incident at about 7.36am and rushed a fire engine, an EMRS and a utility vehicle to the scene.

“The unit which consists of seven personnel arrived at the location situated 33 kilometers away from the Ranau Fire Station at about 8.14am. There we noticed that the passengers of the car were already pulled to safety by the public.

“Our effort was focused on extracting the driver of the car who, at that moment, was still trapped inside the driver’s compartment using rescue equipment. Afterward, all victims were handed over to the ambulance personnel for further treatment. The operation ended at 8.30am,” he said.
