NEWSFLASH: Veterinary dept intensifies checks for coronavirus
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Veterinary Services Department (DVS) has intensified checks at all entries by air, sea and land into Sabah following the coronavirus outbreak which originated in Wuhan, China.

DVS Director Dr Peter AK Lee (pictured) said this is part of the proactive measures taken by the department to prevent the spread of the dangerous and infectious virus to animals and domestic livestocks in Sabah.

He said the coronavirus was reported to have spread to South Korea, Japan and Thailand, while the African Swine Flu (ASF) had not been fully contained.

But Sabah is still free of ASF, he said while delivering his 2020 mandate to the department's staff at Wisma Pertanian, here, Thursday.
