NGO wants Dr M to stay on till next polls
KENINGAU:  Sabah branch Social Welfare and Volunteer Organisation or Brigade Aman Malaysia fully supports Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad to continue as Prime Minister until the 15th General election.

Its Chairman Rafie Robert said, the Prime Minister’s leadership’s is still needed by the people of this state, especially the young.

He said this in his speech at the launching of the Sabah branch of Social Welfare and Volunteer Organisation or Briged Aman Malaysia at Juta hotel here.

Political Secretary to the Prime Minister who is also the Patron of the Briged Aman Malaysia, Abu Bakar Yahya, officiated the ceremony.

Rafie also thanked the Central Briged Aman Malaysia leadership especially the patron of the organisation, Abu Bakar, for giving him the confidence to appoint as the Chairman of the organisation Sabah branch.

He said the appointment as the Chairman of the Briged Aman Sabah is a great trust to be taken with responsibility and dedication.

“Based on my experience in managing and organising various programmes in the past, I believe  that along with my committee members that will be appointed able to take on this responsibility towards better achieving the goals and objectives of the organisation.

“But as an ordinary person, I also hope that the central leadership of this organisation and Sabah branch committee members will be able to work together to ensure that the Briged Aman Sabah reaches the highest level in terms of management and community service and to achieve this organisation goal as being set out, “he said.

Rafie acknowledged that the community condition  in this state still needs a lot of assistance and protection in terms of welfare, education, natural disaster, health, the local community economy and more.

The organisation had the same goal of carrying out community social responsibility for welfare, education, natural disasters, health, local community economy and others.

Rafie, who is also Keningau Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth Chief said in pursuing the practice and culture in the state the organisation promised that no one among the committee members or members of the organisation would adopt a racial and religious culture.

“This is to ensure justice in the distribution in channel and implement welfare works can be delivered to those who are truly qualified” he said.

At the event, Rafie also received a letter of appointment as the Chairman of a Briged Aman Malaysia Sabah Branch from Abu Bakar.

Also present at the ceremony were Deputy President of the Brigade Aman Malaysia, M. Hairiz Hamzah, Keningau Bersatu Chief, Azman Haji Ruslan, leaders and members of the Brigade Aman
