Kota Belud stretch to be resurfaced

THE entire road in Suria Commercial Centre in Kota Belud, will be resurfaced sometime this year.
According to a concerned member of the public there, the work to provide a new layer of asphalt on the existing road in this commercial centre is crucial to be done in view of its uneven surface.

“It’s really uncomfortable to drive on this road because of its jagged surface and potholes everywhere,” stressed ALBERT, the complainant.
He said alleviating the road condition will improve the revenue for the shop operators in that commercial centre.
“Of course their business will boom because more customers will patronise their shop after that,” he said, adding that the Council would get their assessment paid on time by traders due to this fact.
He, however, said patching the potholes will not be enough as it only gives a temporary solution to the problem.

“All it takes is several heavy rainfall and all that efforts will go to waste,” he added.
He hoped the authority would resurface the entire road surface and redo the parking lot marking so that motorists can park their car accordingly in that area later.

“Perhaps they can also check the condition of the streetlights to ensure all of them are functioning at night,” he said.
A Council spokeswoman, when contacted recently, apologised for the delay to attend to the road problem in that commercial centre.
“We can’t tell when it will be resealed at this stage, but it will surely be this year,” she added.
