K Belud dad reports drug user son to authorities

KOTA BELUD: After five years of dealing with his son’s drug abuse, a father finally let him be detained in a raid by the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), here, Friday.It was learnt that the suspect was among seven men who were arrested during ‘Ops Cegah Bulanan’ starting at 10pm on Thursday until 2am, Friday.ADVERTISEMENT
Tuaran AADK head, Asraf Hafiz Ruslan said the raid was conducted at Kg Tamau and Kg Pantai Emas upon receiving a tip-off and intelligence surveillance.
“One of the suspects were detained after receiving tip-off from his family over his drug abuse habit.
“According to family of five members, they have been advising the suspect since five years ago to turn over a new leaf but failed before deciding that it was time that the suspect be ‘saved’ by the AADK,” he said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Asraf said all the local suspects aged between 19 and 40 were tested positive for drugs and will be remanded for 14 days at the Papar Remand Detention Centre of AADK.ADVERTISEMENT
He said the case is being investigated under Section 3(1) of the Drug Addict (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
