Hunt for duo over Beluran attack

BELURAN: Police here have launched a manhunt for two men who allegedly attacked and injured a shop operator with an axe and a machete on Saturday.
The 37-year-old victim was just about to close shop at Kg Gambaron I, in Telupid, when two men who had earlier bought drinks from him came to the shop.

Beluran OCPD Supt Kasim Muda said prior to the incident, the two suspects had visited the shop to buy drinks and left.
“Not long after that, they came back with machetes, an axe and a metal rod and started attacking the victim, ” he said, Sunday.
It is learnt that the victim managed to fend them off and shouted for help, prompting the suspects to flee.

Supt Kasim said the victim sustained multiple slash wounds and received about 20 stitches for the injuries.
