Tengku Amir Shah was accompanied by FAS Deputy President Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar throughout the event.

Meanwhile, PKBM Chairman Adzmi KK Juatan said the presence of the Raja Muda Selangor in the inaugural closed door football championship reflected his concern and interest on the development and progress of football in the country.

He said the championship is the curtain raiser for 2020 and a first-time activity organised by PKBM.

Adzmi added that the presence of the Raja Muda Selangor to spend his precious time to grace the championship was a historical occasion not only for PKBM but also for Sabah and the people of the state.

He said the championship received positive response from amateur football teams among youths in Klang Valley which attracted 48 teams.

“The presence of Tengku Amir Shah in this closed door football championship has injected a boost of motivation and inspiration to the players to do the best they can.

“The competition is also a platform to unearth new talent into the field of football that can be promoted at State or national level,” he said in his speech here.

Adzmi said this high-impact sport activity is designed to create awareness, discipline and unity among members and the community in fostering friendship and instilling a healthy culture through sports and recreational events.

According to him, Tengku Amir Shah has also called on PKBM to consider organising a women’s football match so as to unearth talent and encourage healthy lifestyle.

In light of this, Adzmi said PKBM will consider the royal request that will be included in the organisation’s activity list for this year.
