KK traffic cop cheats death

KOTA KINABALU: A traffic policeman escaped death when a car rammed into him near the Bulatan Masjid Negeri. The incident went viral in social media, Tuesday.
The Kota Kinabalu Traffic Police officer was controlling traffic at the site at 7.40am when a Perodua Alza driven by a 32-year-old woman on her way from Tanjung Aru to Kepayan via the Queen Elizabeth Hospital tunnel, hit him and his motorcycle.

“As soon as she arrived at the roundabout, another vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man suddenly entered the left lane before hitting the Alza.
“As a result, she lost control of the vehicle and skidded towards the traffic officer before hitting him,” said city police Chief ACP Habibi Majinji.

Habibi said the 50-year-old officer and Alza driver were not injured.
“The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said. The traffic policeman managed to get himself up with the help of the driver. Many passers-by were seen stopping to help the officer.
