KOTA KINABALU: DAP Sabah Treasurer Ronnie Loh Ee Eng urged the State Government to allow Chinese tourists still in Sabah to extend their stay by one month, instead of seven days.

Loh said he was glad to be able to assist Olympic table tennis champion Li Ju in applying for an extension of the tourist visa.

Loh also extended his thanks to the Director of Immigration, Dato Dr Muhamad Sade bin Mohamad Amin, who arranged for them to meet with Noraini, a senior official responsible for extending the tourist visa.

“He told me a lot of Chinese tourists have inquired from Immigration about staying in Sabah for another month. The director has not  received new instructions from the Chief Minister.”  Loh said the Olympic World Table Tennis Champion loved Sabah’s natural tourist attractions very much. “Due to the Olympic World Table Tennis Championship Li Ju’s tourist visa will expire on the 24th of this month.  It is my hope that the Sabah Government will be able to accommodate it,” he said.

Loh said Li ju would also contribute her strength to provide the Sabah ping pong athletes with a short-term of six-month training in Sabah for free.
