Seven houses and shop among razed in 2 fires

KOTA KINABALU: Seven houses, a two-storey shop, five cars and three motorcycles were damaged in two separate fires in Telipok and Foh Sang, here, on Sunday and Monday.
No casualties were reported in both incidents. The causes of the fires and estimated losses are still under investigation.

The Monday fire at Kampung Penempatan Telipok involved a two-storey shop and two houses.
Ten firefighters from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Station, led by Agustravia Joe Guasi, rushed to the scene following a 12.49pm distress call.
Firefighters from Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran were also at the scene to assist. The fire was brought under control by 1.25pm and the operation ended around 2.24pm.
Also at the scene were officers from the State Fire and Rescue headquarters, Alias Abu and Dunsten Peter.

On Sunday, a fire at Taman Mutiara, Lorong Angsa, Foh Sang, left five houses, five cars and three motorcycles damaged.
A 9.30pm distress call prompted 29 firefighters from Kota Kinabalu and Lintas, led by Mahmud Jumah, to the scene.

The fire was brought under control at 10.02pm and the operation ended at 12.57am.
Also at the scene was Senior Fire and Rescue Officer Mohammad Akramin Sakirun.
