JOE said the pole, which was located near a mosque in the area, was slanting at a 45 degree angle.
“It looks as if it could fall over at any time,” he said.
“I suspect that the soil in which the pole was planted might have become loose due to the on-going development.”
He said he had related his observations to SESB several times but, so far, no action was forthcoming.

Joe first noticed that the pole was no longer upright some time in February.
“I cannot understand why the company is taking this problem so lightly.

“If the pole collapses and damages a vehicle, or hurts a passer-by, will the company accept responsibility for this mishap?”
He said consumers living there could be left without a supply, if the wire supported by the pole snapped in two.
Joe provided Hotline with the location of the pole in question. This information was forwarded to SESB
A spokeswoman for the firm said the relevant section would be informed about this matter.
“We will have to determine whether the poles do indeed belong to us before proceeding with further action,” she said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

“If this proves to be the case then our workers will be instructed to set the poles back aright as soon as possible.”
Effort would also be made to fortify the base of the poles to prevent them from leaning over again, according to her. (SS)
