Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin urged the people to stay home in line with the Movement Control Order to curb Covid-19 or the restriction will be extended if its objectives are not met.
He reiterated the government’s call for restricted movement because some people take advantage of the two-week closure of working premises to go “balik kampung” or back to their hometown.

“I see the highways are jammed with many vehicles heading north, south and east. The bus stations are full with people wanting to go balik kampung,” he said in a special address Wednesday evening.
“I beg you, please stay put where you are. Just for two weeks. Because we want to break the chain of infection.
“If we’re not successful in this period, the government may have to extend the Movement Control Order.”
