Govt announces additional stimulus package worth RM250b
Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on Friday announced another economic stimulus package worth RM250 billion to cushion the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak.

He said the package includes RM128 billion to protect the rakyat and RM100 billion allocated for small and medium sized industries.

“The insurance and takaful industry will create a fund worth RM8 million to absorb the screening cost of RM300 per policy or takaful medical certificate holder,” said Muhyiddn on Twitter.

“To enhance the Ministry of Health’s capability, the government  will channel an additional allocation for RM1 billion to acquire equipment and services to fight Covid-19.

“The daily payment of RM50 to replace income under MySalam will be extended to the B40 income group placed under quarantine as a patient under investigation.”
