Sabah must remain disciplined: Juil

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah President Cup team manager Datuk Juil Nuatim called on his players to embrace discipline during the current Movement Control Order (MCO) period implemented by the government.The Sabah Football Association (Safa) deputy President said the players must utilise the current break in the league wisely and do their work out as told by the coaches at home.ADVERTISEMENT
‘The players must have the self-disciplines. They need to follow the order to stay at home and continue their training as instructed.
“The coaching staff led by Justin Ganai have prepared a training programme for each player so that they can train at home individually, and they will be monitored closely by us as well.
“This is important to ensure that they are always in shape during this time especially now that nobody has any idea how soon the league will be resumed,” he said on Friday.
He also revealed that all the players who were staying in two separate houses since the start of the season are now back at their own home after the expiration date of MCO was further extended from March 31 to April 14.ADVERTISEMENT
“All the players have been advised to go back home following the directive from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) that no training should be carried out during this period and furthermore all the training facilities here in the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex are also closed,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sabah who are in group B of the competition had played four matches before the league was suspended.

They managed to accumulate a total of six points with two wins and two losses that put them in sixth place at the 11-team table standing.
They started the season with a 1-0 home win against Melaka at Likas Stadium followed by a 1-2 defeat away to Kuala Lumpur.
They bounced back in the next match with a 5-0 thrashing of UKM at home before suffering a 2-3 loss to Selangor on their next home match.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

They were supposed to take on Negeri Sembilan also at home on March 19 before the league was suspended.
