Not a suicide case, says DG

PUTRAJAYA: The 62-year-old man who reportedly committed suicide at the Serdang Hospital last night was not a Covid-19 patient, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah clarified today.He said the man underwent Covid-19 check-up and his test result was negative.

“There is a record of a suicide case last night, but the person was not a Covid-19 patient.
“We did the test... the Covid-19 test done on him turned out to be negative,” he told a press conference, here, today.
According to Sepang police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof, the suicide occurred at 7.40pm in a bathroom in ward 7D of the hospital.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

It is learnt that the body was discovered by a nurse, who immediately alerted the hospital’s security department.

The 62-year-old was warded at the hospital at 2.30pm on March 26.
