Kota Kinabalu: A Sabah-based apps company, MoreFun is helping fellow Sabahans, whose income are affected by the Covid-19 outbreak, to work with them delivering goods and services.

One of MoreFun co-founders Jaclyn Yau said the company is inviting e-hailing drivers and e-riders to join them in delivering food and beverages, groceries including gas cylinders and its “MoRun” services that provide door-to-door delivery of various items.

She said the job seekers need to upload the MoreFun application and go to “life chat” to contact its customer service, or contact 017-832 0623 or they can apply via Facebook.

“We are helping the State’s economy by offering jobs to Sabahans. “Most importantly, the applicants need to have own vehicles and valid driving licences,” she said when met after distributing 200 packages containing food and drinks to police and army conducting roadblocks around Kota Kinabalu on Sunday.

She said Morefun together with A1 chicken rice, Macao imperial tea and U-tea took a joint initiative to distribute the packages to the police and army personnel who are on duty at roadblocks.

“We donated the packages to show our appreciation and gratefulness for the police and army who work diligently to ensure people comply with the MCO so that they would not simply leave their homes unless necessary and during emergency situations.

“They work day and night and sacrifice their energy and time and even risking their lives when they are out in the open to check every motorist passing through roadblocks,” Yau said.

During this MCO period, she said the company is offering 15 per cent discount from the total bill for those using its delivery services via its MoreFun application as the company’s contribution to ease burden of their customers when chose to engage its delivery services.

She said it has given the discount prior to March 18 when the MCO period begun when they have been earlier signs of the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.

According to Yau, the company has about 200,000 customers in Sabah, Sarawak, Melaka and Johor Bahru whereby it has about 100 riders in Sabah.

Also present were another co-founder Victor Ng and one of its City partners, Johnson Lo in the programme.
