30 patients moved to new quarantine centre

LABUAN: The more than 30 patients under investigation (PUI) for Covid-19 at the Labuan Hospital are being transferred to the new quarantine centre at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) here.Labuan Health Department director Dr Ismuni Bohari said the transfer exercise began at 2.30 pm today and was expected to be completed by Monday night.

He said his medical team is in charge of treatment of the patients at the quarantine centre while the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) is looking after the facility and the Social Welfare Department is responsible for food arrangement.
The quarantine centre can accommodate at least 168 patients, he told Bernama.
He said the ITI was chosen as a quarantine centre due to its strategic location, as it is situated opposite the Labuan Hospital.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

“We are also making efforts to transfer those under home quarantine to the centre so that our medical personnel can monitor their health condition better,” he said.

Dr Ismuni said the number of people under home quarantine here has reduced significantly to more than 400 from over 1,000 previously. – Bernama
