Kota Kinabalu: Sabah on Wednesday announced that some tyre shops, workshops and pet shops will be allowed to operate on selected days from 8am to 2pm throughout the extended movement control order (MCO) period, from April 1 until April 14.

The State Secretariat said tyre shops and workshops registered with the Public Works Department would be allowed to operate from 8am to 2pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Pet shops will also be allowed to open on these days.

The State Secretariat also serves as the Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre, established to co-ordinate efforts in battling the spread of the deadly virus.

The number of shops allowed would be determined by the respective local governments in the State, it said.

It also said the State Government would not allow the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) farmers’ market to be held throughout the extended MCO.

The State Government also extended the temporary closure of all oil palm plantations and palm oil mills in Kalabakan, Semporna and Kunak under the extended MCO. This also applies to similar plantations and mills in Tawau, Lahad Datu and Kinabatangan.

All other directives made by the command centre previously will continue to stand until the extended MCO ends.
