MCO offender found with drugs

RANAU: Police arrested a man and seized a 1.0 gram syabu worth RM300 through Ops Covid-19 Roadblock held at Kilometer 19 Ranau-Tamparuli Road near Kundasang early Wednesday.Ranau police Chief DSP Sammy Newton said that the 30-year-old man was arrested by a Rela police team after finding him behaving suspiciously during a roadblock at about 6.30am near here.

“Investigating the suspect found a small black zippered bag containing two transparent plastic bags containing crystalline powder which suspected to be drug weighing roughly 1.0 gramme.
“A urine test on the suspect was also found to be positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.”
“In addition, the suspect was also found in violation of the current Movement Control Order (MCO), during which the suspect was located in an improper place. The suspect is also the second person in this area who has been arrested for defaulting on the MCO,” he said.
The suspect also has a previous criminal record under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1952.

In Lahad Datu, a 42-years-old man was detained on Thursday for failing to obey the Movement Control Order (MCO).
District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said, the suspect was detained while wandering at Kampung Cocos area around 9.55pm.

Police spotted the man who was behaving in a suspicious manner while patrolling the area and they later approached the man to question his purpose to be in the area.
“The man said he want to go to pay his debt, however, police found that the excuse was unreasonable since he was only about 100 metre from his house when he was detained.
