MCO: Two LD men out for coffee held for second time

LAHAD DATU: The stubbornness of two men led to their second arrest for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO).

District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said the two were previously detained on April 1 but released on Friday.

However, they were caught again violating the MCO at about 4.40pm on Saturday.

“They were detained while riding a motorcycle at the Cenderawasih area. When asked about their purpose, they claimed they wanted to get coffee.

“The excuse was unreasonable as they live about 16km away from Cenderawasih and there are shops in their residential area,” he said, adding they were brought to Cenderawasih police station for further action.

The case will be investigated under Section 269 of the Penal Code, Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 1988 (Act 342) and Rules 3(1) of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures in infected local area) Regulations 2020.
