Duo charged over stolen perfumes

Kota Kinabalu: Two men were charged at the Magistrate’s Court here Tuesday with having stolen perfumes.Self-employed Md Mardisyah Mohd Din, 34, and hawker Md Anafi Yusof, 28, pleaded not guilty to having 20 bottles of stolen perfume belonging to one Baharin Ja Ala at 6.05pm on March 31 at Kg Sembulan Baru.

The charge was framed under Section 411 of the Penal Code.
Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles set May 18 for case management and ordered Mardisyah to be remanded further and released Anafi on a bail of RM1,000 in two sureties.
Earlier, prosecuting officer Inspector Lim Swee Beng in applying for case management, objected bail for Mardisyah as there was an arrest warrant against him on a burglary charge.
Meanwhile, Mardisyah claimed trial to another charge of shoplifting.

He was accused of stealing a packet of cigarettes worth RM17.20 and six bottles of beer valued at RM142.40.
The charge was framed under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

The court denied him bail and set May 14 for case management.
In another case, a teenager pleaded not guilty of having stolen properties.
Md Shariza Syazizi, 18, was accused of having a laptop, a watch and a handphone belonging to one Mahathir Jaih at 7pm on March 30 at the public complaint counter in Karamunsing police station.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
