Seven new Sabah Covid-19 cases

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah recorded seven new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 248, on Wednesday. Keningau recorded the highest increase with three positive cases followed by Tambunan (2) and one each in Papar and Kota Kinabalu, respectively.Tawau topped the list of positive cases with 67, followed by Lahad Datu (38), Kota Kinabalu (35), Sandakan (19), Kinabatangan (17), Tuaran (17), Beaufort (9), Putatan (8), Kunak (8), Penampang (6), Kota Belud (5), Keningau (4), Papar (4), Sipitang (4), Tambunan (3), Ranau (2), and Semporna (2).

An increase in the number of recovered cases of 21 patients was also recorded in Sabah, with a total of those recovered to 82 people, while the death toll is still two. Meanwhile, the number of discharged patients has exceeded the new Covid-19 cases, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
He said 166 patients had recovered and discharged from hospitals, bringing the tally to 1,487 or 36.1 per cent from the total.
He said the ministry recorded 156 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total of positive cases to 4,119.

From the total, Dr Noor Hisham said 76 were being warded in the intensive care unit with 45 needing breathing aids.
The Crisis Preparedness Response Centre, he added, had recorded two new fatalities.

The cumulative number of deaths is at 65 or 1.58 per cent from the total number of cases,� he said at a press conference today.
Dr Noor Hisham said the 64th death, or Case 2,903 was a Malaysian woman aged 58, and had diabetes and hypertension.
She was admitted at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar in Negri Sembilan on March 30 and was pronounced dead on April 7 at 3.20pm.

He had a history of attending the Sri Petaling tabligh gathering.
The man was admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital on March 22, and was pronounced dead on April 8 at 9.30am. – NST
