Two more Covid-19 deaths, 109 new cases in Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu: Malaysia announced two more Covid-19 deaths and 109 new cases, bringing the totals to 67 and 4,228 respectively Thursday.
Patient #2,798, a 59-year-old man with chronic health issues who attended a Kuala Lumpur religious gathering that became the nation's largest transmission cluster, died at Melaka Hospital.

Patient #2,864, a 23-year-old woman, who had thyroid and was a fifth-generation case in another cluster involving a Kuching church gathering, passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital.
The nation's death rate currently stands at 1.58 percent, among the lowest, said the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry also said 72 of the overall cases are receiving intensive care with 43 of them on ventilator support.
A total of 121 more patients have recovered, bringing the total of those discharged to 1,608, or 38.03 percent of the total number of patients.
