Police hail Tenom for 97pc MCO compliance

Tenom: Police are satisfied with the Movement Control Order (MCO) compliance among the community here.“Compliance with MCO in the district reached 97 per cent so far,” District Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Hassan Majid, said during the Covid-19 District Disaster Operations Control Center (PKOB) operation at the Tenom-Keningau roadblock near Sabah Murut Cultural Center here.

He also reminded the public to obey the instructions of the relevant authorities to ensure Tenom remains a green zone.

He expressed his gratitude to the local community for their compliance, especially on staying home and one person per trip outside during the restriction period.

Hassan said enforcement at the roadblocks was also tightened, namely Tenom-Keningau, Sipitang-Tenom and Kampung Entabuan-Tenom routes.

The roadblocks were jointly carried out by the police, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATMs), the Malaysian Defence Force (APM), Tenom Health Department and Malaysian Volunteer Department (Rela).

Meanwhile, the District Covid-19 PKOB Chairman and District Officer Sungkim Rumagun said all types of private vehicles, those transporting essentials good and running services from Tawau and Lahad Datu areas were not allowed entry until further instructions are issued.

The district PKOB Covid-19 also held a disinfection operation with the District Council and District Fire and Rescue Department at the general markets, railway station and banks.
