Two centres set up for quarantine in Tenom

Tenom: Two quarantine centres here have been set up at Taman Pertanian Lagud Seberang and Giat Mara Centre Tenom.Kemabong Assemblyman Jamawi Jaafar said 50 individuals comprising of students and workers upon return from the Peninsula were placed at the Taman Pertanian Lagud Seberang quarantine center.

He said the District Disaster Operations Control Center (PKOB) had made it a requirement for workers and students to observe a 14-day quarantine at the center before returning home to their respective families.
“I have visited both the quarantine centers and they are both in satisfactory condition and equipped with amenities. There are no complaints from those observing their quarantine here,” he told reporters after visiting the quarantine centers here, Wednesday.
Also present were Covid-19 PKOB Vice President Mas Sazwan, Assistant District Officer Martinus Lunggeh, Assistant District Officer (Admin) Yuesri Ismail Yusof and Kemabong Community Development Leader Burnley Balang.
Jamawi commended the efforts of PKOB in preparing a systematic quarantine center which enables the repatriated to observe their quarantine comfortably.

He added that the district’s status of being free of Covid-19 should not be taken for granted, therefore precautionary measures and compliance with the Government’s orders, particularly the Malaysian Healthy Ministry (KKM), should be prioritised by the people.
“PKOB’s efforts to quarantine those entering from red zone areas, as well as students and workers from the peninsula, is not to burden them but it is an effort to break the chain of Covid-19,” he said.
