Jamawi added that open houses during Hari Raya should be celebrated among the immediate family only and mass gatherings should be avoided as much as possible.
He urged families to adhere to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) imposed by the Malaysian Health Ministry (MOH) and maintain hygiene amidst the celebrations.
He said that Sabah Mufti Datuk Bungsu Aziz Jaafar has issued a directive regarding the matter recently and he urged Muslims to abide by it.

On the Aidilfitri donation, Jamawi had presented food aid to the Asnaf community as part of the upcoming celebration.
“Just like previous years when Aidilfitri closely approaches, the Asnaf is never forgotten. However, this year I do not have the opportunity to go on the ground and hand the donation over personally due to the Movement Control Order (MCO).
