Kota Kinabalu: How Sabah’s two latest Covid-19 patients got infected is still under investigation, said the state’s Health Director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi.

One of the cases, Kota Marudu’s first, was a patient transferred from the Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Kota Kinabalu who was found positive and admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday for treatment.

The other case, Tawau’s 84th, was a passenger on a commercial flight from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu who was later placed at a quarantine centre and admitted to Tawau Hospital on Thursday.

“The causes of infection for both latest cases are still being looked into by the health office,” said Rundi in a statement Friday evening.

On Thursday, Rundi said there might be new Covid-19 cases in Sabah in the near future as there were samples from arrivals in the state yet to be tested for the disease.
