SIPITANG: A 41-year-old Sarawakian from Lawas was among two men detained by the police after being found with syabu (methamphetamine) at a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) roadblock at Jalan Tunggul Tinggi, here.

District Police Chief DSP Champin Piuh (pic) said Friday the Sarawakian was arrested after police found 0.28gm of suspected syabu worth RM50 in his possession.

He said the other man, 27, from Kampung Mesapol Lama here, was found to have 0.20gm of suspected syabu along with what is believed to be drug paraphernalia.

Both suspects were brought back to the police station for further investigation, he said, adding the police here will continue to tighten enforcement of the CMCO and will issue a compound against those who breached Act 342.

“I advise all people in Sipitang to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set under the CMCO as action will be taken against those who break it,” he said.
