Tawau SPCA in need of urgent help
SPCA Tawau currently cares for 400 animals in the centre.
TAWAU: The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Tawau (SPCA) is seeking help from the public to donate dog and cat food as the 400 animals in its care are facing food supply shortage.

Its President, Kapitan Leong Nyuk Yin said the association currently has left about RM1,000 which could only support the animals’ food for a few days more. He said money which they received from charity is also depleting, which is causing them to be in a dilemma.

He said they could not hold any fund-raising programme during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period since middle of March.

“We need a lot of food every day to feed more than 300 dogs and 80 cats a day, and at the moment our capacity can only support their food needs for a few days more,” she added. Besides rice, canned food, mosquito coils and other food items, the public also can donate funds to the association through its account – ABMB 100570010088248. For inquiries, contact Christine at 0168266465 or Ms Lee at 01115432993.

SPCA Tawau was set up in 2014.
