Covid-19: A spike of 103 new cases in M'sia today

KOTA KINABALU: A total of 103 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) Health Ministry (MOH) today.
Cumulatively there are now 7,732 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, according to a press statement by Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

“Therefore, there are currently 1,382 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment,” he said.
“This high number of additional cases reported today were amongst non-Malaysians.
“Of the 103 additional cases reported today, seven are imported cases who were infected overseas.
“Of the 96 locally transmitted cases, 84 cases are non-Malaysians, of which 53 cases were detected from the Pedas Cluster and 24 cases from the Cleaning Company Cluster.

“The remaining 12 locally transmitted cases are Malaysians.”
Currently, he said, eight confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in intensive care units (ICU), and of these, two cases are on ventilation support.

He also disclosed that 66 cases have fully recovered and discharged well today.
“Cumulatively, 6,235 confirmed Covid-19 cases have fully recovered (80.6 per cent of total cumulative cases),” he said.

Fortunately, he said, no additional Covid-19 death was reported to the National CPRC MOH today.
Cumulatively, there are 115 Covid-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.49 per cent of total cumulative cases).
