Man claims trial to two counts of CBT
Kota Kinabalu: A 25-year-old man was charged with two counts of committing criminal breach of trust involving RM5,184.70.

Pu Lee Fung pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz to the charges against him on Friday.

On the first count, Pu is accused of breaching the trust given to him as branch manager of Syarikat Saling Dominasi Sdn Bhd, which entrusted him with sales collection of the company amounting to RM1,150, but had used it for his own.

He allegedly committed the offence at a hotel here on Dec 10, 2019.

On the second count, he allegedly breached the trust given to him by using the company sales collection amounting to RM4,034.70 for his own at the Ninso Wawasan Plaza, here, on March 13, this year.

The offence under Section 408 of the Penal Code provides for a jail term of up to 14 years and whipping on conviction.

The court set July 8 for case management and Nov 9-11 for hearing.

Pending the date, Pu was released on bail of RM6,000 with RM3,000 deposited in two local sureties.

The court also warned Pu to not tamper with the prosecution witnesses and his passport, if any, to be impounded by the court as well as to report to nearest police station once a month.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Megat Mahathir Megat Tharih Afendi appeared for the prosecution.
