K Belud elderly woman stabbed in chest, motive unknown

KOTA BELUD: An elderly female was punched in the head and neck and stabbed in the chest at 6.30am in her home at Kg Kerang Benai, Wednesday.The heavily injured victim, Nung Garam (pic), 79, who lives alone, reportedly received 14 stitches for her injuries.

Kota Belud Police Chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the victim was in her living room when an unknown male suspect entered and held her shoulders and punched her.
“The victim attempted to retaliate and break free but the suspect threatened to kill her in a Bajau dialect before stabbing her in the chest.
“Fortunately, the victim’s neighbours heard her cries for help which prompted the suspect to flee,” Zaidi said, when contacted.

He said there were no witnesses and the suspect is said to have worn a mask, a shirt and black trousers.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

“Police are still investigating the motive, whereas the victim’s condition has stabilised after receiving treatment at Kota Belud Hospital,” he said.

Zaini added that the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code.
