Putra says recent move by Sec to join Upko not weakening party

KENINGAU: Sabah Chief Coordinator of Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra), Jeffrus Mimin Rijan (pic) said the move by Putra Coordinator Secretary, Shamiun Salleh to join Upko Party will not weaken the struggle of the leaders and party in the state.He said Shamiun’s involvement was not in favor of the party (Upko) rebranding as alleged.

“Instead, he (Shamiun) is attracted by the rewards offered by the Upko,” he said in a statement.
Shamiun handed over his membership forms to Upko President and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau along with 424 various party members at Upko headquarters in Penampang.
Jeffrus said Shamiun was Putra Sabah Coordinator Secretary only for a few months.
According to him, Putra has a high commitment to fight for the well-being of the people, especially the Bumiputeras in the state.

Jeffrus said the rebranding of Upko was desperation but the party president as the party lost its grassroots support including two assemblymen recently.
