Kota Kinabalu: The High Court here dismissed the revision application by a Sabah Water Department’s former Director and his wife, who were charged with a total of 23 counts of money-laundering, to quash all the charges against them.

Judge Datuk Nurchaya Arshad delivered the decision, Thursday, on the application by Ag Mohd Tahir Mohd Talib and Fauziah Piut.

The applicants had, on June 19, 2019, filed the revision by way of an originating motion naming the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Director and the Attorney-General of Malaysia as the first and second respondent, respectively.

In the motion, they are seeking an order to strike out, set aside or stay all charges against them, who were the first and second accused in a criminal case which involved two other accused that has been fixed for trial in the Sessions Court here.

The couple also applied to release their RM1.2 million cash from the seized properties for legal fee and another RM25,000 monthly for living expenses.

They were represented by counsel Marcel Jude.

Deputy Public Prosecutors Mahadi Abdul Jumaat and Zander Lim Wai Keong appeared for the prosecution.
