Travelling in a van, they made their way from the IJM area (Mile 6, Jalan Utara) right up to Mile 19, stopping at different locations to check out lamp posts and electrical panel boxes along the way.
The HPUC team was accompanied by Lee Kong Fui and technicians from Sandakan Municipal Council (MPS).
“We inspected quite a number of electrical panel boxes and lamp posts and, wherever possible, MPS technicians did on-the-spot repairs to get the lights working. However, for more complicated cases, they will return to do the job as soon as possible to get the lights operational again,” said Taren Sunil.
Among the places where rectification was done was the ‘orang utan’ roundabout, the Sungai Tiram roundabout and the junction leading to the PPR housing estate at Gum Gum.
