Shafie as PM candidate: Warisan, DAP want discussion, consensus

Kota Kinabalu: Amanah and DAP have asked that Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's backing of Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as the opposition's Prime Minister candidate in the event of snap polls be discussed for a consensus to be reached.

"However, the suggestion needs to be discussed at Amanah and DAP's central leadership level before it is brought to the PH Presidential Council for a consensus to be reached," they said in a joint-statement Saturday.
