RM9,000 for KB flood victims

KOTA BELUD: State Rural Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick donated RM9,000 to the Disaster Control Centre to assist flood victims. The donation was presented to District Officer Kota Belud Diyanah Abdullah.“I agree to donate two boats to the Kota Belud District Office for the use of those on duty during flood crises,” Ewon said when surveying the flood evacuation centre at Tun Said Community Hall, here, Sunday. Also present were Kota Belud MP Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis, Usukan Assemblyman Datuk Japlin Akim and local leaders. A continuous 9-hour rain which started on Saturday afternoon had caused flooding and three main rivers in Kota Belud to overflow.
