Shafie will become a puppet PM: Rosnah

PAPAR: Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal would only be a “puppet” Prime Minister if he becomes one, with an extraordinary loyalty to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin (pic).Rosnah said how can Shafie lead the country when “he failed in Sabah apart from creating numerous controversies, including disregarding the people’s grouses.”

“Mahathir never paid much attention to Sabah during his tenure as the fourth and seventh Prime Minister,” she said, Sunday.
She admitted to have a high hopes on seeing a Sabahan becoming Prime Minister candidate. However, the selection must be made based on capability and credibility to bring good results to the nation.
Rosnah also claimed there is a hidden agenda on the selection of Shafie as the Prime Minister candidate for PH Plus.
It is clear, she said, that Mahathir is trying to stop PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from becoming a Prime Minister if PH returns to govern the country.

“I look at this matter from two angles, as a Sabahan, it is my dream to see a Prime Minister from Borneo as historically it never happened even though our leaders have the capability and qualification to be an effective Prime Minister.
“However, it would be an insult for him (Shafie) and Sabah if the proposed candidacy is based on political interest, ego and grudge to stop Anwar from becoming Prime Minister.

“If this is true, Shafie is merely manipulated to gain support from Sabah in the 15th General Election,” she said.
