Damaged KB bridge to be replaced

Initial works have commenced to replace the low-level crossing.
KOTA BELUD: A new bridge is under construction in Jalan Pomotodon, here, to replace a low-level crossing which was damaged due to heavy rain, a few months ago.Rural Development Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said Kota Belud Public Works Department (PWD) has appointed a contractor for the project and that early works are taking place.ADVERTISEMENT
“The bridge will replace the badly damaged low-level crossing,” he said when observing works to build an alternative road along the road.
“I was briefed by the contractor and I will continue to monitor other repair, maintenance and construction works of roads and bridges under PWD in my Kadamaian constituency,” he said.

On the landslide in Jalan Pomotodon, Ewon said the PWD will construct an alternative route while Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) will dismantle the hanging grid posts.

“However, this need a long time to complete and also huge allocation. We hope the weather will be kind to us so that works can continued,” he said.
Also present were District Officer Diyanah Abdullah, District Engineer Shim Pau Kiong, and Kadamaian Community Development Leader Saikom Watis.
