Syabu: Two held in Kinarut

PAPAR: The Narcotics Crime Investigation Division (BSJN) here arrested two men and seized a total of 5.06gm of suspected Syabu in two separate raids in Kinarut, Wednesday.District Police Chief DSP Batholomew Ak Umpit said both suspects, in their 30s, could face jail terms for alleged drug possession and involvement in drug activities.

“The first arrest in the afternoon involved a man who behaved in a suspicious manner.

“Investigation revealed that the suspect had with him suspected Syabu weighing 5.04gm,” he said, adding the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. Batholomew said another suspect believed to have been involved in drug-related activities was arrested in the second raid carried out in the same area.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

He said suspected syabu weighing 0.02gm was found in his possession, adding both suspects were currently under remand.
The cases are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) and 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
