Contractor found dead after missing in river

PAPAR: An electrical contractor who was reported missing after falling into a river was found dead at Kampung Mondikot, here, Wednesday.According to a Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson, a team of six personnel led by Papar Station Chief Roslie Jun rushed to the scene 25km from the station after being notified at 2.44pm.

Upon arriving, the team alongside other rescue teams and local folks carried out Surface Rescue and Surface Searching operation to find the victim.
The team then found the victim’s body located around 100 metres from where he was reported missing after almost two hours of search. The remains were handed over to district police for further investigation.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Meanwhile, the victim who went by the name Ag Ku Sallam, 38, had been to the village at 8.15am to carry out repairs on damage caused by the flood on June 27.
Later in the afternoon, one of the personnel involved in the maintenance works said he believed Ag Ku fell into a nearby river where work was being carried out.
