Covid-19: Two new cases in Sabah today
KOTA KINABALU: Two additional cases were recorded in Sabah on Friday, bringing the total number of infections in the State to 375.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said, at the ministry’s Covid-19 press conference, in Putrajaya, that both cases were Malaysians and were detected from screenings at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, here.

The two cases were among the five new cases reported as of 12pm, Friday, bringing the tally to 8,648 nationwide.

The other three were imported cases, involving Malaysians returning from Qatar, Turkey and Oman.

Noor Hisham also said nine more cases have been discharged in Malaysia, meaning 8,446 patients have recovered from Covid-19 in the country since the outbreak began.

This translates to a recovery rate of 97.7 per cent out of the total number of cases in the country with the number of active cases in Malaysia is now 81, while the number of active cases in Sabah is 12.

He announced no new deaths, which means the death toll in the country remains at 121 cases for the 19th day in a row.
