PH backs Anwar as PM candidate
KOTA KINABALU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) announced, Monday, it is committed to its original stance to back PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as its Prime Minister candidate, following a meeting of its Presidential Council earlier.

However, it said the meeting also decided for Anwar to be given “full mandate” to discuss with all parties, including with Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal who has also been nominated for the same post, according to a joint statement posted on PH’s Facebook page.

The statement also mentioned that the PH Presidential Council rejected the motion by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to remove Tan Sri Ariff Yusuf and Nga Kor Ming as Dewan Rakyat Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

The statement was jointly signed by Anwar himself, Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu, and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
