Kota Kinabalu: Patrick Wong took over as the new president of the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu Central (RCKKC) for the year 2020-2021 from Immediate Past President, Demi Koh.The new president will continue the Club’s goodwill, social and welfare activities for the community and the general public.

Koh pointed out that Rotary club is an international organisation aimed to benefit all communities through its five avenues of service, namely vocational service, club service, community service, international service and youth service.
She thanked the committee and members of the club for their support and cooperation during her tenure as President.
Among activities this year include a visit to the Kinarut Old Folks Home during the Lunar New Year, they also distributed New Year red packets and gifts and invited the Li Qiong Lion Dance troupe to perform.
They club also visited the Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas to distribute New Year gifts to bring joy to the children and the hospital.

In addition, they distributed stationaries, food and balloons to the children.
Koh also extended her thanks to sectors who have supported and participated in the Club’s cyling event held at Padang Merdeka in October last year. The event saw a participation of 1,500 people.

She said Club had initially planned a joint batik exchange programme and show in the State Capital with the Rotary Club of Indonesia in April or May this year.
She said that the programme which has since been postponed, was mainly aimed at promoting local designers, create awareness on locally produced batik, and develop tourism while enhancing ties and goodwill with their neighbouring Rotary Clubs.
